Lord Krishna says in Bhagwat Geeta, to perform ones actions without thinking about result. the actions should be for the protection of dharma, for establishing dharma.
Some coward intellectual may say that the pandavas should have forgiven kauravas for Draupadi vastra haran, why so much blood shed and killings?
But we, mere mortals cant be compared to Lord Krishna. If Lord Krishna said to wage war for the protection of dharma, then be aware, then there is no better alternative.
Dont be fearful of the consequences, If revenge is for the protection of dharma, then everything is fair. If it is just because of some personal insult, then just like Lord Krishna, avoid for some time, give them a chance to mend their ways, still they doesnt understand, then you know what Lord Krishna did with shishupal.
Remember, there is no better karma than protection of one’s dharma. Inability to take action even when your dharma is being destroyed is the only bad karma you should really fear.
Protect Dharma, Dharma will protect you.
Thanks and Regards
See lessObviously, taking revenge is a bad karma. If you do anything in a sense that is harmful for the society that is counted as bad karma. on the other hand if you do the same thing for the sake of good for the mankind that is called Good Karma. Like Lord Parshuram did.

See lessWhether you take revenge or not, if someone does wrong or maybe good, he/she build his/her own karma and for sure he/she will have to pay for that good /bad. Thanks.
