Please clarify this to me. Should Sun be in Taurus, Jupiter in Libra which both are Enemies of Venus and Venus In Gemini. What will be the significance, is Venus afflicted due to enemies being in his houses or Is Jupiter and Sun afflicted due to being in enemy Sign. how will all 3 of them behave in relation to each other.

Friendship between planets is of 3 types - permanent, temporary, and 5-fold. Now as per proper calculation (refer footnote), 1. Friendship between planets is of 3 types – permanent, temporary, and 5-fold.
Now as per proper calculation (refer footnote),
1. Sun considers Venus neutral (not inimical) + friend, so result is friend.
2. Jupiter considers Venus enemy + enemy so result is great enemy.
3. Venus considers Sun enemy + friend so result is neutral.
4. Venus considers Jupiter enemy + enemy so result is great enemy.
So the question should be reconsidered as per this.
Now coming to the impact of all this:
1. Being in friend/enemy house can provide support/obstruction to a planet, but it will not be serious enough to say that the planet is afflicted. Here Jupiter cannot be called afflicted simply due to the reason that it is in the house of Venus being a great enemy.
2. Being in friend/enemy house affects the Sthaanbal of the planet (refer footnote 2)
3. A planet being a dispositor is certainly affected (positively or negatively) by other planets sitting in the former’s Rashi, and especially more if the other planets are sitting in its Mooltrikon Rashi. However, here also presence of enemies in a planet’s Rashi cannot mean that the dispositor planet is afflicted. So here Venus is surely affected by Sun and Jupiter, Venus carries their energy / influence and will also play a role in delivering their results, but is not afflicted. Say for example there is Mars+Ketu in Libra, then Venus can be said to become afflicted (not because of friendship or enmity, but because of nature of planets).
Predictive uses – Jupiter refuses to accept the resources and energy given by Venus, and Venus refuses to give the energy and resources demanded by Jupiter. However, we should also remember that here both planets are in trine to each other – so become helpful naturally. What we can say is:
1. Native will face financial difficulties for completing his education but will be able to overcome it.
2. Spouse will not actively help in religious festivals, or spouse will not regularly accompany the native to temples / guru and will expect the native to specifically ask the spouse to come along.
3. Spouse will be very particular about puja arrangements and technicalities which native will not like and will not accept.
4. Native doesn’t find a good financial advisor or tax planner easily.
5. Native sees “spiritual life” and “material life” as 2 separate things or even as 2 opposite things. He may see material life as an obstruction to spiritual life.
6. Native feels higher education will not significantly improve his income (or he is dissatisfied by it).
7. Native feels he doesn’t get the appropriate recognition for his knowledge, advice, guidance, etc.
Predictions can be made even based on the house lordship of the planets. (Above predictions will be modified based on lordship, etc. Lordship will play a very important role)
Remedial uses – where issue is identified to be because of enmity or lack of sthaanbal (here we should understand who all are causing lack of sthaanbal), then simple remedies can be done to make Jupiter accept energy of Venus. Eg white silk clothes can be offered to a deity or panditji, prasad of Venus items can be offered in temple, little curd can be offered to the base of banana plant, etc etc etc.
If relation between Sun and Venus is seen, the conflict will be much much lesser.
Here it is Venus who may have little issues with Sun but nothing will be serious. Eg spouse may feel native has ego issues at times with regard to money but is manageable. Native may find father’s expenses to be higher sometimes but will not say anything. Native will tend to find flaws in govt financial policies and tax policies. Etc etc.
Footnote 1
1. Permanent friendship – Lords of 3-6-7-10-11 from Mooltrikon Rashi become enemies, and others become friends. If a planet is friend + enemy then he is neutral. Result can be friend / neutral / enemy.
2. Temporary friendship – planets situated in 2–3-4-12-11-10 from a planet become friends, and the rest become enemies. Result can be friend / enemy.
3. 5-fold friendship – just combine above 2 friendships. Result can be great friend / friend / neutral / enemy / great enemy.
4. Relationship from first planet to second need not be same as relationship from second planet to first (Eg Sun and Venus above).
Footnote 2
1. Primarily, sthaanbal is the level of comfort a planet has in its environment (Eg is a child at home, or at a park, or at a strict relative’s home, or he’s kidnapped somewhere, etc).
See less2. It also shows whether the planet gets support and resources to survive – are the resources of good quality, are they received easily or by struggle, etc. It is like the dispositor is the landlord.
3. Sthaanbal also shows the capability of a planet to govern the results of the Rashi in which it is placed. Can show whether people will listen to native or native will listen to people or there will be a middle path. Example: Good sthaanbal = planet is like a chief minister; low sthaanbal = planet is like a common man.
4. Sthaanbal can affect internal happiness quite strongly. Low sthaanbal can make a native complain / be dissatisfied even if circumstances are just neutral.
I would like to add some more things. Deepanshu sir always says – identify the SOURCE of problem first, make predictions, then give remedies.
The easiest, simplest, and most accurate method of identifying source of problems is seeing friendship between planets and inter-planet placement (like which planet is 6/8/12 or 1/4/7/10 to other planets) (even shadbal – but it is a much deeper concept).
WHO is causing the problem and HOW the problem is being caused – used for predictions, cautions, and remedies.
WHY the problem is being caused – foundation of pending karma.
Take any chart and see the friendship of Venus (who considers Venus the enemy and whom Venus considers as the enemy) – we can blindly predict the cause of problems in marital life. Try it on any number of charts – the only failures will be exceptions due to bhava, aspect, etc.
1. Mercury – couple doesn’t do fun activities together; communication issues, maturity gap (age gap is not necessary), friends causing problems, lack of trust, pinpointing mistakes or criticism
2. Jupiter – philosophy or morals are different, religious perception is different, money-management dispute, different views on upbringing of children, difference in treatment of elders
3. Mars – anger or laziness, lack of passion, siblings, optimism and helpfulness in life, difference in response to unexpected or emergency situations, difference in courage (one partner may be eager to fight others and other may want to move out peacefully), taking care of body or being health-conscious
4. Saturn – profession or job, couple doesn’t share pain together or doesn’t help each other in difficulty, selfishness, difference in level of commitment, not wanting to make changes, etc
Similarly not only spouse, but many other things can be seen with Venus such as finances, material pleasures, handling of highly complex issues, refinement, etc
The same goes for other planets like Saturn for profession / obstacles / lessons, Jupiter for happiness / philosophy / guru, etc etc etc.
Like Deepanshu sir says – it is our internal conflict which prevents us from achieving true greatness in life – relationship between planets CLEARLY shows all our internal conflicts.
Like Jupiter-Venus enmity indicating the native sees material life and spiritual life as opposites – generally such a native will have more devotion for lord Shiv than Sri Vishnu. This conflict doesn’t let native enjoy spiritual life or material life in its full joy and eliminating it will help the native live both lives fully as both are one and not opposite.
Like sir says everything has 2 sides – the good side of this combination is that nobody can bribe such a native.
Sun-Venus enmity – if this goes to an extreme then the native can have impractical level of pride within himself and doesn’t change decisions – eg. even for day-to-day matters the native will carry a mindset like “cut my head off if you want but I will not compromise”. At a normal level it will show a “my way or highway” mentality even for small things like watching TV.
Like this we can very easily give remedies and even address the internal negative effects of combinations to remove resistance and help someone live to their greatness.
