Atmakaraka is the planet that has attained the greatest degree in the d1 chart. It is the planet that most identifies with the Atma or the heart, however, varied from it.
What we hope and do not reap, all this we discover by going in within ourselves. For here clearly are the true intentions within the coating of the inaccurate. Just as those who do not understand the area, step again and again over the jewel of gold and do not discover it. In a similar way most of us go into the earth of Brahma and do not disclose it; for we are held up away by our erroneous intentions and fail to comprehend the true ones even though they are hidden within.
Atma means the spirit and karaka named as the significator. Atmakaraka is the karaka of the soul’s appetite. According to the Vedic ideology, a soul is reborn because it has incomplete intentions that were left disappointed in the prior lives and it is survived again to get another chance to convince them. What are these intentions? Will they be fulfilled or will you strive with them? This indicated by the Atmakaraka planet. In my view, the Atmakaraka is one of the most significant planets in the main birth chart.
The normal Atmakaraka is the Sun in all horoscope. It can be assumed as Atamakara accountable for establishing personality, temperament and propels us to do efforts. It is this characteristic that contends doer-ship working together with data provided by the other ingredients of the modest body such as remembrance, understanding, the subjective mind and the five senses components.
Atma itself is the observer consciousness that is occurring everywhere and is defined in Tattva Bodha as that which other than the entire, modest and causal bodies, which is beyond the five senses and is the observer of all the three districts of walking, napping and hoping. It is not accessible for any agreements in the manifested world rapidly and is not correlated with doer-ship.
It is taught that Atmakaraka is like a filter and relying on the planet that is the Atma karaka, we notice at ourselves and the world coloured by that filter. It is what constrains us to this body, sense and the planet.
