• I am a chartered accountant and want to pursue MBA from any of the premium colleges of India. I am having my exams in the month of November 2023. Is it worthwhile if I quit my job by August and dedicate time to study for 3 months? I would be having Jupiter (MD) – Sun (AD) – Sun (PD) in November.
  • If by dasha you mean Vimshottari dasha, then November 2023 will be Jupiter – Venus – Jupiter – Venus/Sun/Moon.
  • As sir has mentioned many times – a sacrifice has to be made between Jupiter and Venus during the Ju-Ve dasha, and you are asking whether to sacrifice job (where Venus is placed) or degree (where Jupiter is placed).
  • Yes, it will be worthwhile because the upcoming Jupiter-Sun period is also supportive. However, the exam will be highly competitive and so will your college (Rahu-Mars in Leo, and Venus being 6L in debilitation) – you will have to be very meticulous and hardworking in order to do well. Starting as early as possible will be an advantage. Couple smart work with hardwork – Venus anyway has a lot of tricks to get ahead.

• Is there any possibility that 10-15 years down the line, I will start my own business or professional firm? If yes, what is it going to be?
  • You’re going to rise up the ranks in an MNC and have your freedom/independence, it is less likely that you will leave all of that to start something from scratch. You’re more likely to start new things/bring expansion in the company you work in.

• Any other important observations relating to career, spouse, wealth, etc.?
  • Do not apply your principles or mindset to other people, let them thrive as they are. There is no need to be aggressive about it.
  • Play some sport or have a regular exercise routine for early mornings – it will help in all areas of life.
  • Be mindful of arguing with your seniors – do not pick unnecessary battles or get into power struggles, especially with females.
  • Don’t nitpick your spouse or try to overshadow her – ego doesn’t go well in relationships. The person who loses arguments in a relationship is generally the one who wins the relationship.
  • You may have some time away from your spouse due to short-lived but frequent travelling.

Astrology-related Questions and Observations:

• Effects of retrograde and debilitated Saturn in 5th house. Whether retrograde planets cancel debilitation?
  • Retrogression does not cancel debilitation
  • Eccentric thought process, will not give up under any amount of pressure, laughs in the face of difficulty as if it is a joke and moves ahead, good = does not give up, bad = extremely stubborn and at times not practical, does not change mindset, old-fashioned, late to adopt new thought process, sees extremely far into the future – which is not practical at times, cannot relax/take a break without feeling anxious, always on the move, overthinks, thinks many things at once, thinks hardwork is the solution to every problem, expects juniors to bear the same pressure as himself – this will not go well. Difficulty in education – would have self-studied many subjects despite having teachers. In a hurry to learn although learning speed is slow but very solid and thorough. Does not forget easily – good for academics but bad for emotions/thoughts.
  • Remember – the only difference between a good quality and a bad quality is the quantity – if balanced, every quality is a good quality, and if not balanced, every single quality is a bad quality.

• Effects of retrograde Jupiter (lagna lord) in 3rd house (Aquarius) with Ketu. What would be its effects?
  • Retro lagnesh Jupiter – refer Deepanshu sir’s book for details; highly knowledgeable person, egoistic/proud, wise, does not take orders or listen to others much, does things in own way, etc
  • Lagnesh Jupiter with Ketu in Aquarius 3H – expansive knowledge, sees finer aspects of any knowledge, leaves books midway while reading/writing, studies in dreams, talks to himself as if a teacher is talking to a student, lost in another world / own thoughts, great at finding shortcuts, learns and learns extra to find loopholes, very large network of friends but the person stays emotionally detached from most of them, wants appreciation and recognition and helps/does ‘noble’ work for it and at the same time feels uncomfortable – basically wants to be known but doesn’t want to be disturbed, teaches without being asked to teach, underestimates other people especially for their knowledge.
  • I think you’d be the last child to your parents – please confirm.

• Effects of combusted and debilitated Venus in 10th house. Does the combustion of Venus lead to a decrease in debilitation and Sun taking control of areas of Venus?
  • Decrease of debilitation – not much
  • Sun taking control – yes, to some extent (because level of combustion is moderate, not extreme)
  • Great with finances and complex matters, starts at a low position and rises high, good attention to detail, gets close to seniors/top management, very critical of colleagues/etc, tends to micromanage.

• In D9 chart, Saturn is placed in 10th house with Venus and Mars. What are its effects on my career and married life?   Is it some sort of neechbhang for Saturn or Venus or both? Any major prediction relating to my life with respect to the D9 chart?
  • Yogas taught in scriptures are intended to serve as examples in most cases, rather than as strict laws for planets – even Deepanshu sir teaches it similarly.
  • You’re asking Neechbhang in a technical sense – so, no, it is not.
  • Neechbhang has a way of working, it does not simply cancel out debilitation. Hence, the interplay of energies here is giving Saturn and Venus some support, but it does not manifest in the way Neechbhang yogas do.
  • 11L and 2L combining in this way – will bring good wealth through profession, network, and marriage – but with effort.
  • Effects – I’m not spelling out effects planet by planet, placement by placement; have considered it while making other predictions.

• Any observations from the D10 chart. Saturn in the 1st house, Sun in the 7th house,  Venus – Mercury in the 6th house, and Ketu in the 10th house.
  • Works very hard to build a career, starts low, makes many friends – professional circle and friends circle has a great overlap, works with independence/freedom, good at lying and bending rules to seem like rules are followed, stubborn, doubts self frequently, etc.

I think you are referring to the concept of Hora. If you’re talking about a different concept which sir has taught in some old video, please share the link.

Hora belongs to 7 planets (leaving out Rahu and Ketu from Navgraha). The Vaar/day is actually decided based on the Hora at the time of sunrise.

Yeh ek cyclical order mein chalta hai, jo ki anya graha ki prithvi se duri par aadhaarit hai. Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon – that is the order.

Next, to find out the hora at a particular point of time in a day, there are 2 methods:

Method 1: there are 12 horas from sunrise to sunset, and 12 horas from sunset to next day sunrise – so divide dinman (day duration) by 12 – that will be duration of each hora during the day, and similarly divide ratriman (night duration) by 12 and that will be the duration of each hora in the night. The first hora of the day starts at sunrise, and the first hora of the night starts at sunset.

Method 2: there are 24 horas from sunrise of today to sunrise to tomorrow. Take the entire duration between sunrise to next sunrise and divide by 24 – that will be the length of each hora, and sunset plays no role in this method.

Note – Method 1 is the appropriate one. I have given method 2 because it is used in some places and we should be aware.

The first hora on any day is the hora of the day lord (this is the reverse of the actual concept, but I’m saying it this way because it is easy to remember in the start) – eg on Thursday the order of hora will be Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, and Mercury. Then, from the time of sunset, continue the series with Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun.

After Sun, the next hora will be of Venus but that will start at sunrise of subsequent day, hence the subsequent day will be Shukravaar.

Note – series of hora will remain the same on each day, but the hora at sunrise will change hence everyday the hora will fall at a different time (as per the western time concept which we use). Like 1st Jupiter hora may be from 6:05 AM to 7:10 AM on Thursday, but 1st Jupiter hora on Friday could be from 10:00 onwards.

Also note that the duration of each hora will vary because dinman and ratriman vary (day to day changes are not huge, but month to month or season to season changes are notable).
